What is Chamomile Floral Spray?
My Floral spray are Plant waters, also known as Hydrolats/ Hydrolsol. They have been used since ancient times for aromatherapy, and are considered the FIRST aromatherapy! Hydrolats are the process of steam distilling plants. The end result is Distilled with with plant properties and essential oil. Plant waters are technically considered Medicine water. Chamomile is one of my favorite plants to distill.
Chamomile hydrosol has calming properties, which can help with sleeping difficulties. Chamomile is also a cardiac calmative, so it can ease migraines.
For skincare, chamomile water is excellent to calm the itching of eczema and psoriasis. It soothes flaky, itchy skin, rashes and acne. Chamomile also soothes the mucous membranes, which may safely be treated with this relaxing anti- inflammatory water. Chamomile water is antiinflammatory and anti- infectious, making it ideal for calming inflamed and irritated skin conditions such as rosacea, burns, sunburn and razor rash.
Chamomile water is purifying and cicatrizant, suitable for all skin types. It helps to give the right balance to dry, irritated and fragile skins and calms tired eyes.
Traditionally, chamomile water has also been used for baby care in general, to calm when teething and promote sleep.
My Chamomile Floral water is pure, undiluted Chamomile Hydrosol. It is versatile and can be used in all parts of your day.

Steam Distilling German Chamomile
Today, my focus is on the incredible properties of Chamomile.
If you haven't noticed by now, Chamomile is one of my favorite Aromatic Herbs.
Benefits range from:
Helps digestion
Sedative, often used for the nerves
Effectively used for menstrual cramp in teas, soaks and topicals
Remedy for nightmares (especially for children)
Numbing (Analgesic)
Anti-fungal
Anti-inflammatory
Antiseptic
Expectorant
and so much more...
Steam distilling is one of my favorite ways to connect with herbs and create more ways to incorporate them in my daily life. I recently started using my hydrosols for aromatherapy. As soon as I notice my body tensing up from stress or anxiety, I spray some hydrosol in my face to ground myself.
Chamomile Hydrosol Uses:
Spray or apply with a cotton pad directly onto skin ulcers, wounds or burns.
Apply on face to reduce itchy nose and eyes (allergy relief).
Aromatic benefits; calming, sedating (insomnia).
Irritated, inflamed or itchy skin.
Joint aches, muscle spasm or cramps.
*Helpful for menstrual cramps.
Hydrosol is a wonderfully sustainable as well as effective. When we steam distill herbs, we end up with a good amount of hydrosol, or floral water with Aromatic and Therapeutic properties. Whereas, essential oils require a lot of plant material for very little results. Hydrosols, (water soluble), are also more efficiently absorbed by the body than essential oils, (fat soluble). Since we are made up of mainly water, it is easier for our body to absorb the hydrosols medicinal value effectively.
So, YES... Chamomile Hydrosol can be sprayed on your lower abdomen, lower back or anywhere you have tension. The calming affects will lower inflammation, numbing will relax the muscle spasm and the aroma will sooth you.
